The Closer Than You Know Project Team's mission is to raise money and awareness within Atlanta's GLBT community for the Emory Vaccine Center's HIV/AIDS vaccine research. It is our passion to broaden the knowledge and participation of our community in support of the Vaccine Center through education and raising awareness. We are committed to helping ensure that our own Emory Vaccine Center is 'closer than we know' to finding an effective HIV/AIDS vaccine.
THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR WEBSITE!
Dear Friends-
In the course of passing conversations over the past few years, I had heard about the Emory Vaccine Center. It was not until Summer 2007, however, that I realized that, tucked away in the beauty of the Emory University campus, was a place where miracles were happening. Who knew that right here in Atlanta a group of dedicated scientists and researchers are on the cusp of discovering great things that could change the world?
The work of these dedicated people at the Emory Vaccine Center has led to a promising vaccine that is now entering Phase II of human clinical trials, arguably the most exciting work going on in the country. Secondly, these scientists are testing a possible therapeutic vaccine that would reduce HIV+ patients' reliance on daily medication. They are even doing incredible work in African countries that will help us learn more about how HIV is transmitted from person to person and help save more lives around the globe. The Emory Vaccine Center is closer than we know to finding an effective AIDS vaccine, and it is happening closer to us than any of us realize. In fact, it is right here in our own backyard!
The Closer Than You Know Project Team is a group of enthusiastic volunteers dedicated to raising awareness of the Emory Vaccine Center's work and mobilizing financial support within Atlanta's GLBT community. You can join us by becoming a Champion for Hope for $1,200 per year. As a Champion, you'll be invited to all general events and will receive invitations to exclusive events, along with periodic updates on the Vaccine Center's work. Or, with a generous gift of any amount, become a Friend of the Emory Vaccine Center. Your financial support is critical to its continued success. As you read this, the Emory Vaccine Center is changing our world. It won't be long before its work will help stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. Just around the corner from all of us, the men and women of the Emory Vaccine Center are dedicating their lives to saving ours.
Please join us in our efforts to spread the word about the Emory Vaccine Center, and by making a contribution.
In more ways than one, we really are CLOSER THAN YOU KNOW!
