Mark J. Mulligan, MD is a Professor of Medicine within the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University. He is the Associate Director for Clinical Trials at the Emory Vaccine Center. Dr. Mulligan serves as the Executive Director of The Hope Clinic of the Emory Vaccine Center. The Hope Clinic, the clinical arm of the Emory Vaccine Center, is focused on clinical trials of vaccines and other prevention technologies, human immunology studies, education, and training the next generation of vaccine researchers. Dr. Mulligan also serves as Co-Director of the Clinical Research Core of the Emory Center for AIDS Research (CFAR). Research Current: vaccine clinical trials and translational studies of human immune responses to pathogens and/or vaccines. Earlier: defining the breadth, magnitude, and specificity of CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses to HIV infection and HIV vaccines; and molecular virology studies of human retrovirus entry and assembly (HIV-2, HIV-1, human foamy virus).
